Identification characteristics of jade jewelry

Cuixing: Regardless of the raw material or finished product of jadeite, as long as it is carefully observed on the polished surface, a speckled crystalline interwoven structure can usually be seen. On a piece of jade, two types of hard jade crystals can be seen, one is slightly larger granular phenocrysts, and the other is fibrous small crystals interwoven around the phenocrysts. In general, the size of the spotted crystal particles on the same piece of jade is uniform.
Stone flower: Jade contains small clumps of white fibrous crystals with slightly poor transparency interwoven together.
Color: Jade has uneven colors, with varying shades of green or black on a white, lotus root pink, oil blue, and bean green background.
Gloss: Jade has a bright luster and good polishing, presenting a bright and soft strong glass luster.
Density and refractive index: Jade has a high density and quickly sinks in bromomethane,. The refractive index of jade is around 1.66 (point measurement method), while other similar jade stones are all below 1.63. (Everyone needs to carefully read the refractive parameters on the appraisal certificate)
Inclusions: The black mineral inclusions in jadeite are often melted, with loose cloud like edges of particles. The green color deepens around the black inclusions, and there is a saying that 'green follows black'.
Strong water holding ability: that is, when a drop of water is dropped on the finished jade product, the water droplet protrudes higher.
